Greetyr Students

Student Leadership Team

Sixteen students who set up the room, lead worship, run tech, welcome new kids by name, and meet monthly with Jordan Washington for training.

What the team does

Arrive at 6:00 PM on Wednesdays to set up. Lead a table group of six to eight younger students. Take a turn on sound, lights, or slides. Go to the fall retreat a day early to prepare it. Meet the first Sunday of each month for an hour of training and prayer over lunch.

Who can apply

Starting with the 2026–27 school year, the Student Leadership Team is for rising juniors and seniors — grades 11 and 12. We made this change because the responsibilities grew, and because the younger students told us they connect better with leaders a few years ahead of them rather than one year ahead.

Students already on the team as sophomores keep their place and will serve out the full year with us. Nobody is being removed. The new requirement applies only to students applying for the first time.

If your student is in 9th or 10th grade and wants to serve now, there are two good doors: the Wednesday tech team takes students from 9th grade, and Greetyr Kids takes student helpers from 8th grade for the Sunday 9:00 Gathering. Both are real jobs, not consolation prizes, and several of our current juniors came up that way.

How to apply

Applications open in March for the following school year and close the first Friday in April. A student fills out a short form, a parent signs it, and Jordan meets with each applicant for fifteen minutes. We take everyone who's eligible and willing — this isn't a competitive team.

The commitment

One school year, Wednesdays plus one Sunday a month, plus the fall retreat. Students who need to step back mid-year can, without a conversation about letting anyone down.

Questions about your student specifically? Email Jordan Washington at students@thegreetyrchurch.greetyr.com. He'd genuinely rather have a five-minute conversation than have you guess from a webpage.

We'd love to meet you

Plan your visit

Tell us you're coming and we'll have someone meet you at the door, walk your kids to check-in, and save you a seat. It takes about a minute.
