Men's ministry

Man Up

Men of every age, eating breakfast and telling the truth. Started in 2013 by four guys who were tired of small talk.

Saturday breakfast

The second and fourth Saturday of each month, 7:30 to 9:00 AM in the fellowship hall. Hot food, real coffee, a short talk from Marcus Okafor or a guest, and then table conversation. Usually sixty to eighty men. No signup, no cost, and you can leave at 8:30 if you have a kid's soccer game.

Spring book study

Six weeks after Easter, Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM. We read one book together and actually finish it. In 2026 it's Eugene Peterson's A Long Obedience in the Same Direction. Books are provided; give what you can toward the cost.

The campout

One weekend each October at Montgomery Bell State Park. Tents, a fire, terrible chili, and no phones out after dinner. About forty men go. Sons aged twelve and up are welcome with a parent.

Who it's for

Any man connected to this church, and any man a member brings. There's no membership requirement and no expectation you'll say anything at a table until you want to.

Getting involved. Just come to a breakfast — that's the whole process. Questions to Marcus Okafor at marcus@thegreetyrchurch.greetyr.com.

We'd love to meet you

Whatever brought you to this page, there's a place for you on Sunday. No pressure, no spotlight, no awkward stand-up-and-introduce-yourself moment.

Plan your visit

Tell us you're coming and we'll have someone meet you at the door, walk your kids to check-in, and save you a seat. It takes about a minute.

Find a community group

Sunday is the front door; groups are the living room. Forty-two groups of 8–12 people meet in homes across Nashville and Williamson County every week.
