Sunday, September 21

Baptism Sunday

When: Sunday, September 21, during both morning Gatherings. Six times a year: February, April, June, September, October, and December.

Where: The worship room at Berry Hill. Franklin holds its own on the same date.

How it works

We baptize by immersion, in a portable tank at the front. You'll be asked one question — whether you're trusting Jesus — and then you go under and come up, and the room makes a great deal of noise. It takes about ninety seconds.

Who can be baptized

Anyone old enough to profess faith for themselves. We don't baptize infants; we dedicate them instead. There's no minimum age written down — Pastor David talks with the child and the parents together and they decide as a group. If you were baptized as an infant elsewhere and want to be baptized now, we'll do it; if you'd rather not, that's fine too.

What you need to do

Have a conversation with a pastor. That's the whole process — there's no class, no form, and no deadline beyond letting us know a week or so ahead so we have the right number of towels. Email pastor@thegreetyrchurch.greetyr.com.

What to bring

A change of clothes and a towel. We supply a dark T-shirt and shorts if you'd rather. There are two changing rooms off the kids hallway.

Family and friends

Bring everyone. People who never come to church come to this, and that's rather the point. Photography is fine; we also record it and Owen Park will send you the clip.

New here?

We'd love to meet you

Whatever brought you to this page, there's a place for you on Sunday. No pressure, no spotlight, no awkward stand-up-and-introduce-yourself moment.

Plan your visit

Tell us you're coming and we'll have someone meet you at the door, walk your kids to check-in, and save you a seat. It takes about a minute.

Find a community group

Sunday is the front door; groups are the living room. Forty-two groups of 8–12 people meet in homes across Nashville and Williamson County every week.
